Taylor Street in bloom

Calling Portland “Stumptown” would be a quaint anachronism but for one thing: this town loves its trees.

In SE Portland, almost every neighborhood has tree-lined streets, in a variety of species. Many of the east-west streets are even named after trees (Oak, Pine, Alder, etc.).

That Rose City tree fetish is bringing joy to Taylor Street this week.

Taylor Street from Sunnyside School to 39th Avenue is lined with cherry blossom trees, which are now in bloom, adding an explosion of pink to an already multi-colored neighborhood. And we’ve had a sunny weekend to enjoy it in all its splendor.
