Librarian flash cards

September 25, 2006

Most license plates in Oregon and Washington are some combination of a three-digit number and a three-letter string.

Most three-digit numbers have a subject assigned to them in the Dewey Decimal Classification system.

Anyone up for a random roadway test of knowledge?

…since I last owned a car.

It was also the last time I lived in the suburbs. Not a coincidence. I see avoiding the trouble and expense of car ownership as one of the fringe benefits of living in a city.

I have to admit, though, to feeling a little nostalgic every time I see a Dodge Dart Swinger.

With Stephanie Potter at KBOO last night
(cameraphone photo by Marliese Franklin)

You can’t see it in the picture, but Stephanie is wearing an Austrian peaked cap. In honor of which we sang “The Lonely Goatherd” from the Sound of Music soundtrack. Which we recorded, because we were there to train on KBOO’s new flash recorders (Stephanie has the earphones on).

KBOO: Always a good time.
