Lap time

On my days off, I have been getting up at dawn and walking/jogging laps at Laurelhurst Park. Each lap is about five-sixths of a mile, and I move counter-clockwise, so the long straightaways are generally downhill and the relatively steep climbs are all uphill (the highest points in Laurelhurst Park are the northwest and southeast corners). I walk the straightaways and jog the hills.

I timed my second lap this morning at 12m10s, which translates to about a 15-minute mile. I’m not going to be happy until I can get my lap time below 10m.
